Badgers make early lead hold up versus AUM in 9-6 win
Box Score MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) baseball team used a five-run 1st inning to build a commanding 9-1 lead over the Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) Warhawks in route to a9-6 non-conference victory at the AUM Baseball Complex on Friday evening.
 
Badger starter Dylan Kiene (1-1) went seven complete innings against the Warhawks (5-7) allowing eight hits with three walks and two strike outs while freshman Anthony Fell earned his career save in 1.1 innings of work with no hits and a walk against just six AUM batters.
 
At the plate, eight Badger batters had hits with four batters earning two safeties. Sophomore catcher Brennan Fontenot had a home run and a double with a total of five RBO to lead the charge.
 
Hank Scott (1-2) of AUM took the loss in four innings as six Warhawk pitchers surrendered 12 hits with four walks and nine strike outs.
 
The Badgers (6-8) remain in Montgomery on Saturday to face the Warhawks in a double header beginning at 1 p.m.
