Spring Hill stumbles at Mobile Rams, 5-2
Box Score The Spring Hill College (SHC) baseball team took a 5-2 non-conference loss to the University of Mobile Rams at Mike Jacobs Field on Wednesday evening.

SHC grabbed a 1-0 lead in the top of the 1st inning when first baseman Michael Druhan drove a no-doubt solo home run out of left field with two outs on the board. The Rams (10-3) answered back with three runs in the bottom of the frame and a single run in the 2nd inning.

The Badgers put a run across the plate in the 8th inning with an RBI-single to center by Brennan Fontenot, but Mobile found an insurance run in the next half inning. Spring Hill put runners on the corners with one out and the tying run at the plate in the top of the 9th inning, but a looping pop-up to shortstop turned into a game-ending double play for the Rams.

Druhan enjoyed a 3-for-4 night and was only a triple away from the cycle while left fielder Conner Harrison was 2-for-4 with a double. Sean Bretz (1-1) took the loss in six innings with nine hits and two walks allowed to go along with three strike outs.

Kyle Buck (3-0) picked up the win for the Rams in six innings with seven hits, three walks and three strike outs. Bailey Bannon earned his second save of the season in one inning with two hits and a strike out.

The Badgers (5-8) next travel to Montgomery on Friday to take the Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) Warhawks (4-6) beginning at 4 p.m. at the AUM Baseball Complex.
