UAH charges past Spring Hill, 3-1
MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) women's soccer team underwent a 3-1 Gulf South Conference (GSC) home loss to the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) Chargers on Friday afternoon at Library Field.

The Chargers (4-7, 3-6 GSC) struck first in the 9th minute of play when an attempt by the Spring Hill defense to clear the ball from in front of the goal was intercepted by Arieal Alexander who immediately sent the ball back into the top of the net from 30 yards out.

SHC came out of halftime aggressive, however, and quickly tied the game at 1-1 in the 47th minute when Gabrielle Burmaster blasted in a shot from just outside the top of the box and found pay dirt over the keeper's head on the opposite side of the goal.

Five minutes later UAH would have an answer when Riley Ridgeway headed in a set piece begun by Sydney Pfankuch on the left side and lifted to the right post by Hannah Oglesby. The Chargers salted away the contest with a third goal off loose ball following a corner kick by Pfankuch that Bryann Colvin swatted into the lower right corner.

Sophomore SHC goalkeeper HP Fluharty (0-6) took the loss despite recording five saves versus 13 shots and five corners by the Chargers while Megan Buford of UAH improved to 4-5 with five saves against 20 shots and four Badger attempts from the angles.

The Badgers' (1-10, 0-7 GSC) next contest was originally scheduled in Livingston, Ala., on Sunday versus GSC opponent the University of West Alabama (UWA) Tigers (4-6, 3-5 GSC) at Tiger Stadium, but has been postponed due to TS Nate with the possibility of playing on either Monday or Tuesday.
