MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) women's soccer team suffered a 4-0 Gulf South Conference (GSC) loss to the Mississippi College (MC) Choctaws at Library Field on Sunday afternoon.
The 14
th-ranked Choctaws (10-2-1; 9-2 GSC) stuck first in the in the 8
th minute when Peace Gill found the net with a one touch finish of a ball played across the box by Emma Claire Furman after Samantha Carsen played the ball through the defense. The lead grew to 2-0 at the half as Emily McNair drove a ball on the ground for a score from 15 yards out in the 29
th minute.
Carson added a penalty kick goal for the Choctaws in the 67
th minute after the Badger defense was whistled for a foul on a scoring opportunity in the box. Furman closed the scoring with a header in the 75
th minute off a headed pass by Caitlyn Hayes off a brilliantly placed free kick from 30 yards by Katie Taylor.

HP Fluharty (0-9) made five saves versus 15 shots and three corners by the Choctaws in the first half while
Hannah Shankman finished the game with three saves against 16 shots and eight corner kicks. Gabby Kayser earned the win with one save versus three shots and no corners by Spring Hill.
The Badgers (1-13, 0-10 GSC) will visit the Shorter University Hawks (1-11-1; 0-10 GSC) in a GSC match Ben Brady Field in Rome, Ga., at 3:30 p.m. (EST) on Wednesday.
