MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) volleyball team suffered a 3-0 (25-19, 25-20, 25-17) home loss to non-conference rival the Xavier University (La.) Gold Nuggets at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center on Thursday night.
 
The Gold Nuggets (14-2) hit for a .297 (45-12-11) attack percentage while holding SHC to a .117 (26-13-111) attack percentage. Xavier rolled up 61 digs with four blocks (3 solo and 2 assisted) and nine aces. The Badgers took in 48 digs with five blocks (3 solo and 4 assisted) and two aces.
 
SHC setter Emmarose Neibert handed out 12 assists with an ace and nine digs while Kayla Black of Xavier had 10 kills.
 
The Badgers (16-3, 12-0 SIAC West) will host the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) West Division Cluster on Friday and Saturday.
