Badgers bully Wolf Pack, 3-1
Box Score The Spring Hill College (SHC) volleyball team took a 3-1 (25-14, 25-14, 22-25, 25-17) non-conference victory over historic Jesuit rival the Loyola University (La.) Wolf Pack in the Badgers' 2016 home opener at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center on Wednesday night.

Spring Hill led the Wolf Pack (9-13) by a slim 13-12 margin in the first set, but used a 6-point run to 19-12 to build a commanding lead before securing the 25-14 victory.

In the second set, the score was knotted at 11-11 when SHC broke off an 8-0 run to lead by 19-11 and closed the set with the final six points for another 25-14 win.

Loyola built a 20-15 lead in third set and fought off a determined SHC rally that cut the Wolf Pack lead down to 23-22 to make it a 2-1 match with a 25-22 decision. The Badgers regrouped in the fourth and final match by running out to a 9-2 early advantage behind the serving of freshman setter Anna Tietjens and allowed Loyola to get no closer than 13-10 in route to a 25-17 outcome.

In total, SHC held a final .272 (55-18-136) attack percentage with 11 aces 51 digs and five blocked shots. The Badgers held Loyola to a .098 (38-26-122) kill percentage with five aces, 51 digs and seven (3-8) blocks.

Individually, senior Madison Seuzeneau had 19 kills and Savannah Becnel built an impressive .522 (13-1-23) attack percentage with three solo blocks. Tietjens handed out 44 assists while Randi De'Armitt recorded 15 digs with two aces. For the Wolf Pack, Tylar Beckham had 12 kills, Maddie Huekels distributed 21 assists with 13 digs, and Sunni Blanchard added two aces and 10 digs.

The Badgers (16-3, 11-0 SIAC West) will a week off before returning to the road on Thursday, October 6 to play in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) West Division Cluster hosted by Tuskegee (Ala.) University at the General Daniel "Chappie" James Center for Aerospace Science and Health Education beginning with the Miles College Bears (5-12, 3-8 SIAC) at 1 p.m.
