Late Union goals break Badgers, 3-1
Box Score The Spring Hill College (SHC) men's soccer team dropped a 3-1 Gulf South Conference (GSC) decision to the Union University (Tenn.) Bulldogs on Sunday afternoon at Library Field.

After a scoreless first half, the Badgers grabbed a 1-0 lead over the Bulldogs (3-4, 1-1 GSC) in the 55th minute when freshman Donte Oliver of New Orleans and junior Ibrahima Ndaw teamed for a nice give-and-go during a 2-on-1 breakaway that resulted in Ndaw registering the score.

Paul Langford of Union then tied the game in the 73rd minute with an assist from Cole Asfour, but the backbreaker came in the 78th minute when SHC was whistled for a handball in the right side of the keeper's box resulting in a successful penalty kick by Henrique Loureiro. Union would later salt away the contest in the 88th minute when Tomas Frischknech scored from 10 yards out following a pass across the box by Rodrigo Zonta.

Badger senior goalkeeper Will Carpenter (1-4-1) earned four saves against 13 shots and three corner kicks by Union while Pedro Haniel (3-4) of the Bulldogs collected six saves versus 16 shots and five attempts from the angles by Spring Hill.

The Badgers (1-4-1, 1-1 GSC) will next travel to Cleveland, Miss., to face the Statesmen of Delta State University (2-3, 0-1 GSC) in a conference match on Friday at 4 p.m. at Delta Field.
