Box Score The Spring Hill College (SHC) men's soccer team began Gulf South Conference (GSC) play on Friday afternoon with a thrilling 3-2 come-from-behind home victory versus the Christian Brothers University (CBU) Buccaneers at Library Field.
The Buccaneers (2-2, 0-1 GSC) opened the scoring in the 4th minute with a score by Xavi Lao who accepted a pass from Jake Barrett 30 yards out, crossed to the top of the box from left to right with two touches and then ripped a shot into net. The lead grew to 2-0 in the 16th minute when Barrett scored with a header from 15 yards out off a crossing entry from the left side by Dalton Marin.
Spring Hill refused to back down and answered right back with a score by
Tapfuma Dimairo who slipped in a first touch shot off a beautifully placed corner kick by sophomore
Tilman Schober in the 23rd minute. The Badgers then tied the game at 2-2 just five minutes later when
Ibrahima Ndaw scored his first goal of the year from the top of the box after beating a defender off a pass from
Joakim Aakerlund.
Freshman
Donte Oliver completed the Badger rally and provided the game-winning goal in the 82nd minute when he cleaned up a blocked shot off the foot of Schober with a heads-up poke into the net.
Badger senior goalkeeper
