Volleyball closes out SIAC West Division Cluster with two more wins
Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 FRANKFURT, Ky. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) volleyball team closed out play at the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) West Division Cluster hosted by Kentucky State University on Saturday morning with two straight set victories over the Central State University Marauders (CSU) and Lane College Lady Dragons.

In the early morning match with CSU, the Badgers belted out a 3-0 (25-11, 25-12, 25-10) victory led by sophomore Randi De'Armitt's 11 kills and freshman setter Emmarose Neibert's 14 assists. Brittany Bilotti served up four aces. As a team, SHC built a .270 (30-10-74) attack percentage with 15 aces, 30 digs and two (0-4) blocks. The Marauders were held to a -.074 (13-18-68) attack percentage with 12 assists, one ace and 31 digs.

The final match of the weekend versus Lane saw Spring Hill coast to a 3-0 (25-9, 25-7, 25-6) win as sophomore Emily Greim turned in an impressive .889 (8-0-9) attack percentage, Neibert collected another 30 assists and Bilotti scooped in seven digs with three aces. In total, SHC poured on a .607 (44-7-61) attack percentage with 12 aces and 28 digs. Lane struggled to a -.133 (5-11-45) percentage with four assists, two aces and nine digs.

"We had an opportunity to play a lot of people over a marathon weekend of volleyball," said SHC head coach Peggy Martin. "Our depth at every position is a true advantage in a conference that competes 'tournament style' and we were never tired due to our terrific bench strength."

With 10 matches completed, Martin is starting to see the personality of her team emerge. "Overall, I thought De'Armitt was outstanding in every facet of the game especially the most important two of serving and passing. Also, our freshmen libero, Cassidi Sterrett, had a good weekend. Our backcourt was our strength."

The Badgers (8-2, 5-0 SIAC) will take the short trip to the University of Mobile on Tuesday to face the rival Lady Rams (6-4) at 7:30 a.m. at H. Austill Pharr Gymnasium.
