Bahlinger pitches Badgers to 21-2 win over Magicians
Box Score The Spring Hill College (SHC) baseball team completed a three-game Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) series sweep with a 21-2 victory over the LeMoyne-Owen College (LOC) Magicians on Sunday afternoon at historic Stan Galle Field.
 
Spring Hill starter Christian Bahlinger (5-2) scattered eight hits in seven innings of work while walking just two batters and striking out five Magicians for his third complete game of the year. Scotty Myracle took the loss for LOC in four innings with 12 hits allowed, a walk and five strike outs. Four LOC pitchers combined to surrender 17 hits, five walks and eight hit-batters
 
At the plate, Badger catcher Alex Jones enjoyed a 3-for-3 afternoon with two doubles and four RBI while left fielder Conner Harrison was 3-for-4 with four RBI and second baseman Thomas Smith was 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI. Designated hitter Brennan Fontenot collected a double and a triple while first baseman William Floros added two hits with a double.
 
SHC took an early 3-0 lead in the 1st inning and then tallied seven-run outbursts in the 4th and 6th frames sandwiched around a four-run 5th inning.
 
The Magicians (2-24, 2-8 SIAC) were paced by Myracle and second baseman Pedro Gomez with two hits each.
 
The Badgers (22-14, 13-2 SIAC) will host Jesuit rival the Loyola University (La.) Wolf Pack (23-28) on Tuesday in a non-conference game at historic Stan Galle Field beginning at 5 p.m.
