Box Score The Spring Hill College (SHC) baseball team lost a 12-6 non-conference home decision to the University of West Alabama (UWA) Tigers on Wednesday evening at historic Stan Galle Field.
The Tigers (12-4) put the Badgers in a 4-0 hole in the 1st inning as third baseman Mitch Holgate cranked a one-out, two-run home run out of left field and just two batters later right fielder Jake Bush smacked another two-run shot out of right field.

Dylan Kiene (1-2) took the loss in two innings with eight hits allowed, no walks and two strike outs.
Johnathan Billings pitched 3.2 innings of relief and gave up three hits with eight walks and three strike outs while
Hunter Nowak closed the final 3.1 innings with just two hits allowed, no walks and four strike outs.
Josh Jones started the game for the Tigers, but left the game after 4.2 innings when Spring Hill scored four runs with two outs on the scoreboard. Jones allowed seven hits with three walks and five strike outs in the no decision as Brady Badon (1-0) picked up his first win of the year in 2.1 innings of relief work allowing just one hit with two walks and four strike outs.

Austyn Jacques tallied his first double of the season with a shot to the gap in left-center to lead off the 7th inning.
For UWA, five batters enjoyed multiple-hit performances paced by catcher Jake Cockrum who went 3-for-5 with a double and three runs scored. Holgate had two hits with four RBI and three runs scored.
The Badgers (7-8) will be back at home on historic Stan Galle Field on Saturday at 12 p.m. to open the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) portion of their schedule with a doubleheader versus the Lane College Dragons (1-10).
