Box Score 2 JASPER, Ala. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) softball team finished play at the 2016 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Divisional Crossover series with a 14-0 victory over the Fort Valley State University Wildcats and a 17-0 verdict over the Clark Atlanta University Panthers at Memorial Field.
Badger pitcher
Danielle Clark (8-4) turned in a one-hit complete-game performance with two walks and six strike outs in the win over the Wildcats (3-18, 3-8 SIAC) as the Spring Hill offense pounded out 11 hits and accepted a season-high 12 walks.
First baseman
Madeline Burchell collected two hits with a double and three RBI to lead the Badgers at the plate as 15 SHC players made plate appearances in the contest with nine of them hitting safely.
In the final game of the weekend,
Caroline Sagrera (13-7) also allowed just one hit versus Panthers (7-18, 4-9 SIAC) while striking out 12 and walking just one.
Burchell added four more hits to her day's totals as third baseman
Rene Kausin had three hits with a home run and three RBI.
Spring Hill (23-11, 12-0 SIAC) will face arch-rivals the University of Mobile Rams (15-5) in a non-conference road doubleheader on the UMobile campus beginning at 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
