Badgers fleece Rams 11-0 in 8 innings
Box Score The Spring Hill College (SHC) baseball team opened a three-game a non-conference road series at the University of Mobile (UM) Rams with an 11-0 victory on Friday evening at Mike Jacobs Field.

Badger starter Wesley Parrish (2-0) kept the Rams (5-6) hitless through the first 3.2 innings of play until UM shortstop Logan Palmer beat out a high-hopping infield single to 3rd base. Parrish would go six innings with just two hits allowed three walks and four strike outs before handing the ball over to Andrew Pierson who finished the final two innings with one hit, no walks and a strike out.

Spring Hill broke onto the scoreboard in the 3rd when 3rd baseman Matthew Spradlin singled through the right side of the infield to plate left fielder Austyn Jacques. The Badgers then made it a 2-0 game in the 6th inning after right fielder Michael Druhan drove in Spradlin with a sharp single down left field line.

The Badgers opened the floodgates for four runs in the 7th inning as Druhan capped the festivities with a double to deep center for two runs. Spring Hill poured on five more scores in an 8th inning highlighted by designated hitter Jacob Malkoff's two-RBI double to left with two outs.

At the plate, Spradlin had three hits with a double and three RBI while Druhan also tallied three hits with a double and four RBI on the day. Shortstop Thomas Smith picked up two hits for the Badgers as SHC racked up 12 hits against three UM pitchers.

Josh Shelley (1-1) took the loss for Mobile in 6.1 innings of work as the Badgers tagged him with six hits allowed and two walks with five strike outs. Ram catcher Chandler Durham had a double at the plate.

The Badgers (6-4) will be back at Mike Jacobs Field on Saturday for a doubleheader with the Rams beginning at 1 p.m.
