Softball drops two in 7th at FSC
Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 LAKELAND, Fla. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) softball team saw non-conference foe the Florida Southern College (FSC) Moccasins rally to score two runs in the bottom of the 7th inning in both games at Barnett Field on Wednesday night to take a pair of 2-1 victories away from the Badgers.

In both games, Spring Hill grabbed 1-0 leads in the top of the 1st inning and shut the Moccasins down for the rest of the game until the FSC Moccasins (2-2) rallied to win in the 7th frame. FSC won Game 1 with a leadoff triple followed by an RBI bunt single, a double and a game-winning single to left. In the nightcap, the Moccasins scored the winning run with a two-out, bases-loaded dropped throw at first base by the Badgers.

Junior centerfielder Jenna Charnock had three hits for Spring Hill on the day. Caroline Sagrera (1-5) took the loss in Game 1 with 6.1 innings pitched, four hits, eight strike outs and no walks while freshman Danielle Clark took home the hard-luck loss in the second game with 6.2 innings of work, three hits allowed six walks and eight strike outs.

Spring Hill (2-7, 0-0 SIAC) return home to Murray Field this weekend to face the Kentucky State University (KSU) Thorobrettes (0-0, 0-0 SIAC) in a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) doubleheader on Sunday at noon.
