Baseball falls 11-4 to Montevallo
Box Score The Spring Hill College (SHC) baseball team suffered an 11-4 non-conference loss to the University of Montevallo (UM) Falcons on Wednesday night at historic Stan Galle Field.

The Falcons (4-3) and the Badgers were knotted at 1-1 headed into the 5th inning where UM exploded for five runs and never looked back after that.

Badger third baseman Matthew Spradlin had two hits at the plate while senior first baseman William Floros connected on two hits with a double and two RBI.

SHC starter Dylan Kiene (0-1) picked up the loss in 4.1 innings of work with seven hits, two walks and two strike outs as four Badger pitchers surrendered a total of 15 hits and eight walks with six strike outs.

Shortstop Dane Hutcheon of UM enjoyed a 4-for-6 night with three runs scored and an RBI while Jamison Roney earned the win in relief with 3.1 innings of work a hit, no walks and a strike out. Five UM pitchers allowed 11 hits to the Badgers with no walks and six strike outs with three hit batters.

The Badgers (2-2) next host the University of North Alabama Lions (4-0) in a non-conference doubleheader on Saturday at 1 p.m. at historic Stan Galle Field.
