Box Score CLEVELAND, Tenn. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) women's soccer team suffered a 4-0 Gulf South Conference (GSC) loss to the 6th-ranked Lee University Lady Flames at Lee Soccer Field on Friday afternoon.
The Lady Flames (8-1-1, 5-0 GSC) opened the scoring in the 17
th minute when Kinsey Cichowitz notched her fifth goal of the year. Lee made it 2-0 at the 27-minute mark when Lauren Peters completed her fifth goal of the year off an assist by Suzanne Arant with a left-to-right shot that crossed the face of the goal and found the lower right-hand corner.
In the second half, the bulge grew to 3-0 when McKenzie Bricker racked up her third goal of the season in the 53
rd minute. In the 64
th minute, Peters scored again with an assist by Nicole Blanchard when her shot from outside the left post on the end line wrapped around the face of the goal to find the net on the right side.

Kayla Beaston (0-8-2) made six saves against 29 shots and five corner attempts by the Lady Flames. Lee starter Erin Olson collected two saves in 61 minutes while Taylor Green had a save in 29 minutes in-goal as SHC took a total of six shots with one corner kick.
Following the game, SHC head coach
Allison Whitworth was proud of her team's resiliency, "I'm extremely happy with our effort and fight in the entire game," she said. "We gave up a few soft goals with easy fixes against a ranked team, but Beaston had a good day in net and leading the back line. We have to find a way to have the same energy and desire on Sunday versus Shorter."
The Badgers (0-8-2, 0-5-1 GSC) will travel to Rome, Ga., on Sunday to face the Shorter University Hawks (1-9, 0-5 GSC) in a conference match at 1 p.m. (EST) at Ben Brady Field.
