Box Score PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) women's soccer team took a 5-0 Gulf South Conference (GSC) loss to the 16
th-ranked University of West Florida (UWF) Lady Argos on Sunday afternoon at the UWG Soccer Field.
The Lady Argos (11-3, 8-0 GSC) held a 3-0 lead at halftime following goals by Svenja Burkhardt in the 6
th minute, Kaley Ward in the 26
th minute and Alisa Festagallo in the 27
th minute. Leonie Kreil added a fourth UWF goal to open play in the second half with a tally just seconds into the period. Kaljit Atwal later put a penalty kick into the net at the 76
th minute.
Badger redshirt freshman goalkeeper
Hannah Shankman (0-1-1) made four saves against 25 shots and 10 corner kicks by the Argonauts.
UWF starter Katelyn Burkhart (10-1) earned the win with no saves versus one shot in 31 minutes in-goal as three Argo goalkeepers combined for one save against two shots and two corner attempts by the Badgers.
The Badgers (0-10-3, 0-6-2 GSC) will return home to Library Field on Friday at 3:30 p.m. as they host GSC foe the University of West Alabama (UWA) Tigers (7-5-1, 5-2-1 GSC).
