Box Score MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) volleyball team recorded a 3-0 (27-25, 25-20, 25-14) non-conference win over the Albany State University (ASU) Golden Rams on Tuesday evening at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center.
The Golden Rams (11-12) came out fighting in the first set as they erased a 9-5 Badger advantage while forcing 11 tie scores and taking the lead at 14-13 before Spring Hill clawed out a 27-25 win.
The second set saw SHC grab a 7-2 lead only to see ASU battle back to close within 15-13, but the Badgers would win the race to the tape in a 25-20 decision. In the third set, SHC built an insurmountable 10-1 early advantage before coasting to a 25-14 victory and a straight set sweep.
As a team, the Badgers finished the night with a .257 (46-18-109) attack percentage as well as 40 digs, seven aces and two solo blocks. The Golden Rams hit for a .146 (24-12-82) percentage with 36 digs, nine aces and six (3-6) total blocks.
Individually, senior
Madison Seuzeneau of Tampa, Fla., recorded 16 kills and
Savannah Becnel added 14 kills and a solo block. Freshman setter
Anna Tietjens handed out 33 assists while
Katelyn Bobinger served up four aces and
Randi De'Armitt scooped up 10 digs.
For the visiting Golden Rams, Justice Howard had eight kills, Jahkishma Soto had 12 assists, Mari Sanchez served out four aces, Kiara Thompson had 11 digs, and Brittianni Phillips recorded three (2-1) blocks.
The Badgers (23-3) will remain at home on Thursday when they host the Lady Rams (16-5) of the University of Mobile in a non-conference match at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center beginning at 7 p.m.
