Box Score COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) men's basketball team came up short in a 72-64 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) road outcome on Thursday night versus the Benedict College Tigers at Benjamin E. Mays HRC Arena.
The Tigers (11-6, 6-2 SIAC East) led the contest 30-28 at halftime, but Spring Hill rallied to grab a 36-34 advantage early in the second period. With 10:17, the Tigers had clawed back to take a 48-45 lead and had expanded the bulge to 51-45 with 7:46 to play.
Benedict maintained a 64-58 margin with 1:46 remaining in the game as the home team held on despite the Badgers cutting the margin to as little as 4-points with less than 30 seconds on the clock.

Jared Holland each tallied 10 points. Spring Hill shot an even 50% from both the floor (21-42) and 3-point range (7-14) while out-rebounding the Panthers 24-19. SHC lost nine turnovers to five steals by BC while benefiting from five turnovers with two steals by the Badgers.
Quayshun Hawkins paced Benedict with 17 points as the Panthers shot 53.7% (22-41) from the field and 53.8% (7-13) in 3-point attempts.
The Badgers (4-9, 3-3 SIAC West) travel to Orangeburg, S.C., on Saturday to face the Claflin University Panthers (7-9, 2-5 SIAC East) in a conference match at 4 p.m. (Eastern) at Tullis Arena.
