Klinger sparks Badgers to 3-0 victory over Tuskegee
Box Score The Spring Hill College (SHC) volleyball team swept to a 3-0 (25-17, 25-10, 25-16) Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) victory over the Tuskegee University Tigerettes at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center on Tuesday night led by freshman middle hitter Dorina Klinger who swatted down 10 kills for an impressive .571 attack percentage.

Tuskegee (8-7, 6-5 SIAC) and the Badgers went toe-to-toe in the first set and traded scores virtually point-for-point until Spring Hill clawed out some breathing room at 19-14 via a 6-1 run. In the second set, SHC raced out to a 15-5 advantage sparked by a 10-point run behind the serving of Klinger. The story of the third set was a fast start by SHC that staked the Badgers to a 9-3 advantage that they never relinquished and built to as much as 19-10.

Klinger and sophomore middle hitter Katelyn Bobinger both tallied 10 kills and scored 12.5 points for the home team and, even more remarkably, they both served up two aces with a block assist and collected two digs apiece.

"We started out slow tonight," said SHC head coach Peggy Martin. "But we got better with our serving and passing as the game went on. I thought we got our middles involved offensively and we need that."

Senior setter Mallory Raulerson distributed 39 assists while sophomore libero Julie Vujnovich recorded 14 digs with 11 service receptions.

As a team, SHC built a .337 (467-16-89) attack percentage with nine aces, 41 digs and four total blocks while holding Tuskegee to a .114 (20-11-79) attack percentage with no aces, 23 digs and four blocked shots.

Pamela Allen paced the Tigerettes with eight kills as Morgan Scrivens served out 17 assists and libero Zahria Radford had nine digs and 14 receptions.

The Badgers (14-6, 12-1 SIAC) will be back in home action on Saturday with a non-conference match versus long-time rivals the Xavier University (La.) Gold Nuggets (8-5) in the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center beginning at 1 p.m.  Historically, the Badgers hold a 16-0 record over the Gold Nuggets, but the last two meetings between the teams in 2013 and 2014 resulted in exciting 3-2 come-from-behind victories for Spring Hill.
