Badgers march on at SIAC Crossover Day 2
Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 ALBANY, Ga. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) volleyball team added two more conference wins to its season's totals on Friday in Day 2 of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Division Crossover Tournament hosted by Albany State University (ASU) with 3-0 wins over the host ASU in the morning and Claflin University in the early afternoon.

In the day's first match versus the ASU Golden Rams (3-8, 3-2 SIAC), the Badgers earned a workmanlike 3-0 (25-19, 25-15, 25-18) victory with junior Madison Seuzeneau swatting 10 kills and senior setter Mallory Raulerson dealing out 33 assists with two aces. Katelyn Bobinger served four of the Badgers' 10 aces as freshman Dorina Klinger had a solo block with four block assists. The defensive duo of senior Abby Allard and sophomore Julie Vujnovich had 11 and 10 digs respectively to lead Spring Hill to a total of 40 digs.

Overall, the Badgers hit .216 (38-16-102) in attack percentage with eight total blocks.

"After an early morning wake-up call, the team responded well," said SHC head coach Peggy Martin. "The match was never in jeopardy with Katelyn Bobinger and Molly Griffin both having great matches in the front and backcourts."

The second match pitted the Badgers and the Claflin Panthers (5-5, 5-1 SIAC) 3-0 (27-25, 25-21, 25-21) and SHC dug out of a very late hole in the first before sweeping the match to move to 5-0 so far  on the weekend. Raulerson continued to direct the team offense with all 36 Badger assists in the contest while Vujnovich had 16 digs of the 58 SHC digs and Klinger made four of the six total blocks by the purple clad squad. As a team, Spring Hill built a .243 (40-13-111) attack percentage with eight service aces.

"After starting the match with Claflin playing really tight, I thought we came back well from huge deficits in set one," said Martin. "We were down 8-16, 17-23 and 20-24, but rallied to win 27-25. It was a really great confidence builder that we could come back after playing very poorly. Griffin had her best all-around match of the year with 11 kills and 16 digs, 2 service aces."

The Badgers (12-6, 10-1 SIAC) wrap up play in the 2015 SIAC Crossover Tournament on Saturday with a single match versus Benedict College (4-4, 3-2 SIAC) at noon.
