Volleyball splits non-conference results in Pensacola
Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) volleyball team won a 3-1 non-conference match versus the University of West Georgia (UWG), but dropped the nightcap 3-0 versus the 20th-ranked University of West Florida (UWF) at the UWF Field House on Saturday.

The UWG Wolves (3-5) took an early 6-3 lead in the first set of the day, but the Badgers stormed back to build as much as a 20-10 cushion before ending the set with a 25-12 win. The Wolves bounced back to take the second set 25-19, but the Badgers rallied to earn a 25-18 victory in the third round.

Spring Hill College wrapped up the victory with 25-16 decision in the fourth set by using a crucial 7-2 run that stretched a 6-6 tie into a 13-8 advantage that the Badgers would not relinquish. Madison Seuzeneau racked up 14 kills to lead the Badger offense as senior setter Mallory Raulerson distributed 43 assists. Freshman Hailey Kirkpatrick scooped in 17 of the 64 total digs by SH. The Badgers earned a .271 attack percentage (53-15-140) with five total blocks.

Next, the UWF Lady Argos (8-2) trailed the Badgers 10-5 in the first set, but rallied to tie the set 20-20 and then clawed out a 26-24 win. The second set saw the Lady Argos use a 12-2 run midway through the set to claim a 25-18 victory as the final set of the day also went to UWF by a 25-22 margin.

Freshman Dorina Klinger had eight kills with four total blocks for SHC while Raulerson handed out another 19 assists. Julie Vujnovich corralled 13 of Spring Hill's 44 digs as the Badgers built a .170 attack percentage (31-13-106) with 8.5 total blocks.

The Badgers (7-5) will open their 2015 home season on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center with a non-conference match versus cross-town rival the University of Mobile Lady Rams (12-2) in the continuation of a series dating back to 2005 that has Mobile leading by a slim 13-12 margin.
