Badgers complete 3-game series sweep of Tuskegee
Box Score The Spring Hill College (SHC) baseball team completed a three-game Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) series sweep over the Tuskegee University Golden Tigers on Sunday afternoon at historic Stan Galle Field with a 14-4 seven-inning verdict.

Badger starter Jackson Howard pitched around trouble for most of the day, but improved to 4-0 on the season with a five-inning effort that netted him three strikeouts while allowing six hits with five walks.

The Badgers held an 8-1 lead after two innings and closed out the game in the bottom of the 7th inning when a bases-loaded, no-outs single to left by pinch hitter Cyrus Beermann gave the Badgers a 10-run Mercy Rule victory.

SHC third baseman Matthew Spradlin collected three hits with three RBIs in the game while first baseman William Floros continued his hot-hitting run with a 3-for-3 day and three runs scored. Catcher Alex Jones added a run-scoring double and a solo home run to the Badger totals along with two sacrifice flies for a four-RBI outing.

Tevin Worth (0-1) took the loss in four innings with seven hits and five walks allowed and no strikeouts. Tuskegee right fielder Evan Kearse and third baseman Gemini Jackson both tallied two hits for the visitors.

The victory completed a three-game series sweep by in which SHC won by the scores of 10-5, 17-7 and 14-4.

Spring Hill (12-5, 5-0 SIAC) will travel to Livingston, Ala., on Wednesday for a 3 p.m. non-conference contest with the Tigers (12-8) of the University of West Alabama at Tartt Field.
