Box Score The Spring Hill College baseball team opened the 2015 season with a 14-13 non-conference slugfest loss to the University of Mobile Rams at historic Stan Galle Field on Tuesday afternoon.
The Rams (3-1) held an 8-0 lead after scoring three runs in the 3rd inning and five runs in the 4th frame, but the Badgers answered back with a pair of 3-run innings in the 4th and 5th innings. SHC trailed 14-9 headed into the bottom of the 9th and rallied to score four times off a run-scoring walk by right fielder
Taylor Eads, an RBI-grounder to 2nd base by catcher
Alex Jones and a 2-run single to left field by designated hitter
Ryan Stevens.
A final out grounder to 3rd base closed out the game for Mobile as Troy Andrews (1-0) earned the win in relief with three hits, two walks and four strikeouts in two innings of work. Trey Cockrell collected his first save of the year in 1.2 innings of relief in two separate appearances between stints at shortstop with one hit, a walk and no strikeouts.
Andrew Pierson (0-1) took the loss for Spring Hill in relief off three hits, a walk and no strikeouts.
The two teams combined to use 13 pitchers as SHC sent seven hurlers to the hill and UMobile sent six pitchers to the mound on seven occasions.
At the plate, the Badgers had five hitter with multiple hit games with centerfielder

Kyle Freeman, shortstop
Mason Hutson and Eads each slapping two hits while Stevens was 3-for-5 with six RBI. Stevens blasted a 2-run homer out of left-centerfield in the 5th inning and Freeman crushed a 3-run bomb over the left field fence in the 4th inning.
Spring Hill (0-1) will next host the Generals of LSU-Alexandria (1-2) in a 3-game series at Stan Galle Field this weekend beginning with a single game at 3 p.m. on Friday followed by a Saturday doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
