Box Score PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) baseball team lost a 15-8 non-conference decision to the University of West Florida (UWF) Argonauts on Thursday night at Jim Spooner Field.

SHC jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the 1st inning when junior catcher Alex Jones doubled down the right field line bringing in right fielder Taylor Eads and 3rd baseman William Floros. Designated hitter senior Ryan Stevens then brought around Jones with an RBI-single to right.

The Argos (7-5) exploded for six runs in the 3rd inning and five more scores in the 4th inning to build a comfortable 11-3 advantage.

Eads and Jones each collected three hits for the Badgers and Wesley Parrish (1-2) took the loss in three innings of work with eight hits allowed, a walk and no strikeouts.

For UWF, second baseman Nic Strasser enjoyed a 4-for-5 night with four RBIs while centerfielder Ledarious Clark had a single and a home run with four RBIs. Jordan Martin (1-0) was the winner in relief with two innings pitched with two hits, two walsk and three strikeouts.

Spring Hill (5-5) will next travel to Jackson, Tenn., on this weekend to open play in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) with a 3-game series with the Lane College Dragons (0-3) beginning with a Saturday doubleheader at 2 p.m. followed by a single game at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
