Badger women rout Warriors, 4-1
Box Score The Spring Hill College (SHC) women's soccer team opened play in the annual Classic on The Hill with a 4-1 non-conference home victory versus the Southern Wesleyan University Warriors at Library Field on Friday afternoon.

SHC opened the scoring with a nifty play in the 14th minute as junior forward Darby Rasch headed in a goal off a pass from senior Sidi Genus who skillfully directed a header to Rasch following an entry from the top of box by sophomore Madison Camet. Rasch then added a second unassisted goal in the 18th minute after collecting the ball at the top of the box and beating a defender for a finish in the back of the net.

The Warriors (2-14-1) responded with a tally in the 39th minute off the noggin of Courtney McNeil who executed a textbook header off a corner kick by Meo Owens from the left side.

In the second half, Genus scored with a bomb from 25 yards out following a pass across the top of the box by Camet in the 56th minute.  Camet later provided the dagger in the 83rd minute when her corner attempt bent into the goal and through the outstretched hands of the Warrior keeper.

"Even though we scored two goals in the first half, I wasn't pleased with our performance in the first 45 minutes," said SHC interim head coach Michael Patrick following the match. "I thought our players responded well in the second half, though, and played better soccer. They moved the ball around the pitch well, created many opportunities and were rewarded with two additional good team goals in the final period. We look forward to Sunday's match with Palm Beach Atlantic to conclude our 2015 season."

Badger senior goalkeeper Maggie Dalessio (3-11-3) earned the victory despite having no saves versus just four shots and one corner kick by the Warriors. Courtney McNeil collected 11 saves against a barrage of 37 shots and eight corner attempts by Spring Hill.

The Badgers (3-11-3) will wrap up the 2015 season with a non-conference home match versus the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish (5-9-1) on Sunday at 1 p.m. on Library Field. Before the game, the Badgers will honor their senior class teammates with the annual Senior Day ceremony.

In the day's final match Palm Beach Atlantic defeated Oklahoma Baptist University 2-0 with goals in the 8th and 88th minutes.
