Two-goal hole too deep for Badgers in 2-1 loss to UWF
Box Score Despite a valiant come-back attempt in the second period, the Spring Hill College (SHC) men's soccer team ended its 2015 Gulf South Conference (GSC) season with a 2-1 loss to the University of West Florida (UWF) Argonauts on Friday afternoon at Library Field.

West Florida broke the scoring ice in the 26th minute when Allan Kuhne made a beautiful entry pass through traffic on the left side to find Marteinn Urbancic in the middle of the box for a goal from 15 yards out. The Argos' lead grew to 2-0 in the 47th minute as the visitors from Pensacola, Fla., wasted little time out the halftime intermission in finding Jorge Chirinos with a pass from Felipe Oliveira for a tally from six yards out.

The Badgers, however, would go down fighting as redshirt freshman Viktor Kvarnlof found the back of the net from six yards out following an entry from Andrew McInnis in the 86th minute to make it a 2-1 contest. Unfortunately for SHC, the clock proved to be their biggest enemy as UWF successfully milked out the final four minutes to secure the victory.

Badger senior goalkeeper Jacob Files (1-2) made nine saves against 17 shots and two corner kicks by West Florida while Jacob Murray of the Argos collected three saves versus five shots and no corners by Spring Hill.

With the victory, the Argonauts (10-5, 4-5 GSC) clinched the final available spot in the 2015 GSC Championship Tournament

The Badgers (3-12, 1-8 GSC) will take their final road trip of the season on Sunday when they visit non-conference opponent the Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) Hurricanes (1-11-2) in Americus, Ga., on Sunday at 1 p.m.
