Box Score The Spring Hill College (SHC) volleyball team won a 3-1 (21-25, 25-23, 25-17, 25-13) non-conference decision over the Xavier University (La.) Gold Nuggets on Saturday afternoon at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center.
Gold Nuggets (8-7) shocked the Badgers with a 25-21 victory in the first set after leading by as much as 19-13 and had the home team on the ropes in the second set with a 23-20 advantage. The Badgers, however, rallied to reel off the set's final five points to even the match at 1-1.
The Badger haymaker in the second set rattled the visitors from New Orleans and invigorated Spring Hill as the Badgers built out a quick 6-1 lead in the third set and led by as much as 21-12 before securing a 2-1 cushion in the match with a 25-17 win. The day's final set went all the way of Spring Hill as the Badgers put the Gold Nuggets in an early 16-6 hole and built out as much as a 22-9 advantage in the 25-13 victory.

Madison Seuzeneau and sophomore
Katelyn Bobinger crushed 18 and 16 kills respectively for the Badgers while senior setter
Mallory Raulerson handed around 45 assists with two service aces. Sophomore
Julie Vujnovich scooped in 17 of Spring Hill's 64 digs.
As a team, SHC built a .281 (60-19-146) attack percentage and held Xavier to a .193 (48-20-145) percentage. Spring Hill had five aces and two total blocks while the Gold Nuggets earned one ace with six blocks and 60 digs.
The Badgers (15-6, 12-1 SIAC) will next be in action on Friday at Tuskegee University (8-7, 6-5 SIAC) in a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) beginning at 6 p.m.
