Two second half Choctaw goals doom Badger ladies in 2-0 loss
Box Score The Spring Hill College (SHC) women's soccer team took a 2-0 Gulf South Conference (GSC) home loss to the Mississippi College (MC) Lady Choctaws at Library Field on Friday afternoon.

After a scoreless first half, the Lady Choctaws (12-1-3, 7-1-2 GSC) broke onto the scoreboard with two goals in rapid succession at the 53rd- and 54th- minute marks as Sayit Mejia Bello scored off a shot from 10 yards out on the right side with an assist from Gaylynn Cooper and then Jess Davenport found the net from straight on from 12 yards out off a crossing entry pass by Bello.

"Today was a tale of two halves," said SHC interim head coach Michael Patrick following the contest. "In the first half, I thought we played some of the best soccer we've played this season and in the second half the wheels just fell off the bus. We have to play more consistent moving forward and we'll now turn our attention to our final conference match on Sunday."

Senior Badger goalkeeper Maggie Dalessio (1-10-3) collected three saves versus eight shots and four corner kicks by the Choctaws while Andrea McDonald of MC made eight saves against 17 shots by SHC with three corner opportunities.

Sophomore Madison Camet attempted six shots for SHC with two being on-goal while Hannah Michael and Sidi Genus each tallied three shots. Michael put two of her attempts on goal while all three of Genus' shots were on target.

The Badgers (1-10-3, 1-9-1 GSC) will close out their GSC schedule on Sunday at 1 p.m. when the Delta State University Lady Statesmen (3-10-1, 0-9 GSC) visit Library Field.
