Late goal tarnishes outstanding Badger effort at No. 23 UWA
Box Score LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) women's soccer team suffered a heart-breaking 1-0 Gulf South Conference (GSC) road loss to the 23rd-ranked University of West Alabama Lady Tigers on Friday night at Tiger Stadium.

The Tigers (9-3, 7-1 GSC) finally broke through in the 79th minute of play when Kirsten Reilly found the back of the net for her eighth goal of the year with an assist from Beth Preston.

"Though we came up a little short on the scoreboard, we had a solid performance from our women on the pitch tonight versus a Top 25 team," said SHC interim head coach Michael Patrick. "We will now turn our attention to Sunday's match and continuing to improve."

Senior badger goalkeeper Maggie Dalessio (1-8-3) made six saves against 11 shots and eight corner kicks by UWA while Issy Foster of the Tigers made two saves against five shots and one corner attempt by Spring Hill.

The Badgers (1-8-3, 1-7-1 GSC) travel to Huntsville on Sunday to face the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) Chargers (5-7-2, 2-6-1GSC) at Charger Park in a 1 p.m. kickoff.
