SHC women mesmerized by Lady Magicians, 76-62
Box Score MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) women's basketball team suffered a 76-62 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) West Division loss to the LeMoyne-Owen College Lady Magicians on Monday evening at Bruce/Johnson Hall.

The division-leading Lady Magicians (11-4, 8-1 SIAC West) led the Badgers 37-32 at halftime and expanded their cushion to a 12-point advantage by the 12-minute mark of the 2nd half.

Junior guard Armanee Broussard came off the bench to score 12 points for Spring Hill while senior guard Elissa VandeWaa added 11 more points for the Badgers. SHC shot 37% (20-54) on the night including 31.8% (7-22) from 3-point distance. The Badgers once again struggled with turnovers as they lost the ball 24 times against 11 steals, but they did win the rebounding battle by a 42-35 margin.

Four Lady Magicians broke into double digit scoring with guard Latrice Sears doing most of the damage by putting 20 points in the baskets. LeMoyne-Owen shot 45.3% (29-64) overall and 12.5% (1-8) from long distance as the Lady Magicians outscored SHC 46-22 in the paint. The home team lost 12 turnovers to just five Badger steals.

The Badgers (9-9, 6-4 SIAC West) take a week off after a long 3-game road trip before traveling to Fairfield, Ala., on Monday to face the Miles College Lady Golden Bears  (3-11, 1-7 SIAC West) in a 5:30 p.m. contest at Bill Harris Arena.
