Badger women their own worst enemy in 2-0 loss to CBU
Box Score Two own goals by the Spring Hill College women's soccer team resulted in a 2-0 loss to the Lady Bucs of Christian Brothers University in a conference match at Library Field on Friday afternoon.

The Badgers gave the Lady Bucs (6-1, 2-1 GSC) the first goal in the 6th minute of play when a left-to-right pass across the face of the goal was stabbed by the foot of an SHC defender only to have it deflect directly into the home team's goal.

A second own goal occurred in the 55th minute when a long distance entry pass from the right side ricocheted off a Badger body and into the goal past Badger keeper senior Maggie Dalessio (1-3) of St. Petersburg, Fla. Despite the two unlucky scores, Dalessio collected six saves against 18 CBU shots while Lady Bucs' goalkeeper Robyn Wade earned the win with two saves versus six shots by SHC.

CBU attempted nine corner kicks in the contest while the Badger had just two attempts from the corners.

Spring Hill (2-3, 0-2 GSC) will continue their current home stand with a conference tilt against the Union University (Tenn.) Bulldogs (2-2, 0-0 GSC) beginning a 1 p.m. on Sunday at Library Field.
