Spring Hill scuttled by Buccaneers, 4-1
Box Score The Spring Hill College men's soccer team accepted a 4-1 loss at the hands of the Christian Brothers University Buccaneers in the Badgers' debut contest in the Gulf Coast Conference (GSC) on Friday evening at Library Field.

The Buccaneers (5-1, 1-0 GSC) took an early 1-0 lead in the 5th minute of play when Kevin Tikhomiroff found the back of the net from three yards out off an entry pass by Diego Silva Vieira. CBU then made it a 2-0 contest in the 13th minute as Tikhomiroff took a pass from Jose Ferraz at the top of the box for a goal that was begun by an excellent long pass from beyond midfield by Ezra Hebert.

Later the score grew to 3-0 in the 63rd minute following a goal from five yards out by CBU reserve Samuel Wilson via an assist by Devon Jackson. SHC refused to quit, however, and tallied a score off a free kick when senior Danny Ochoa of Miami, Fla., lifted a nice entry into fellow Miami senior Salvador Sanchis.

CBU immediately responded when less than a minute later Paul Banks scored on a one-on-one opportunity following a long breakaway run.

Badger junior keeper Jacob Files (0-2) of Clinton, Miss., took the loss with four saves against 15 Buccaneer shots while his counterpart for CBU keeper Britton McGuire earned three saves versus seven SHC shots. The Badger took three corner attempts and CBU earned one corner opportunity.

Spring Hill (1-5, 0-1 GSC) continues GSC play on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. against the Union University (Tenn.) Bulldogs (1-3, 0-0 GSC) at Library Field.
