Box Score The Spring Hill College women's soccer team opened its home schedule on Friday night with a 4-0 victory over the Belhaven University Lady Blazers in a non-conference contest at Library Field.
The Badgers jumped out to an early 2-0 lead on Belhaven (2-3) with goals by junior
Hannah Michael of New Orleans, La., in the 7th minute of play and junior
Courtney Harlan of Mobile's McGill-Toolen Catholic High School in the 9th minute. Both goals came off assists by sophomore
Maha Maarouf from Baker High School in Mobile.
The second half started with a disaster by Belhaven as they kicked in an own goal 44 seconds into the period. Harlan then closed the night's scoring with a final fourth goal for the Badgers in the 82nd minute.
SHC outshot the Lady Blazers 34-5 and took seven corner kicks while Belhaven took none. SHC keepers junior
Maggie Dalessio of St. Peter4sburg, Fla., and senior
Abby Massengale of New Orleans each made one save in the contest. Nicole Walsh made 12 saves for Belhaven.
Spring Hill (2-1) will next host the University of Montevallo Falcons (0-1) in a non-conference NCAA Division II match on Tuesday at 4 p.m. on Library Field.
