Box Score The Spring Hill College (SHC) women's basketball team lost a 65-48 non-conference home decision versus the undefeated Loyola University (La.) Wolf Pack on Wednesday evening at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center.
The Wolf Pack (10-0) snapped a three-game winning streak by the Badgers after grabbing a 42-22 lead by halftime and fighting off a determined second half rally by Spring Hill that saw the Loyola lead dwindle down to nine points at 49-40 with 6:20 remaining on the clock.
Freshman guard
Jennifer Clark led the way for the Badgers with 11 points as Spring Hill shot just 29.6% (16-54) overall in the game and 9.1% (1-11) from the 3-point line. The Badgers continued to rebound well as they took the Battle of the Boards by a 44-35 margin. SHC lost 24 turnovers against 14 steals by the Wolf Pack defense.
Loyola shot 43.3% (26-60) from the floor including 29.4% (5-17) in three point attempts as Janeicia Neely led all scorers with 13 points and Meghan Temple added 11 points. The Wolf Pack lost the ball 13 times as the Badgers took away five steals.
Spring Hill (3-4) now breaks for the Christmas holiday before hosting the Dakota Wesleyan University Tigers (9-4) in a non-conference game in the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center at noon on New Year's Eve.
