Badgers sweep SIAC tri-match at Tuskegee
Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 TUSKEGEE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College volleyball team earned two conference victories by sweeping both halves of a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) West Division tri-match at the James Center Arena on the campus of Tuskegee University on Thursday afternoon.

In the opening match with host Tuskegee, the Badgers defeated the Tigerettes (7-10, 5-7 SIAC West) in a 3-0 (25-11, 25-10, 25-15) decision. Senior Megan Haber of Lillian, Ala., collected 13 kills and freshman setter Marie Rooks from Tallahassee, Fla., handed out 16 assists while senior Sami Maurer of St. Louis, Mo., scooped in 15 digs and 13 receptions.

In total, the Badgers hit for a .515 average (41-7-66) with eight service aces, 20 digs and four total team blocks.

In the nightcap versus Miles College, SHC also downed the Golden Bears (8-13, 7-7 SIAC West) by a score of 3-0 (25-5, 25-13, 25-16). Sophomore Molly Griffin of Westlake Village, Calif., slapped down 15 kills while Haber added another 14 kills to her day's tally. Rooks distributed another 26 assists and Maurer had 10 digs with 12 receptions. Junior Mallory Raulerson of Mobile's McGill-Toolen Catholic High School served up eight aces.

Overall, SHC hit .430 (44-10-79) with 11 aces and 35 digs.

Spring Hill (17-5, 13-0 SIAC West) now continues its current 10-match road trip with a trip to New Orleans, La., to face the Gold Nuggets (10-2) of Xavier University in a non-conference contest beginning at 6 p.m. at the Convocation Center.
