Box Score The Spring Hill College volleyball team took a 3-2 (25-19, 30-28, 20-25, 18-25, 6-15) non-conference loss at the hands of the University of Mobile Lady Rams at H. Austill Pharr Gymnasium on Tuesday night.
The Badgers took what appeared to be a commanding 2-0 lead in sets and led 12-6 in the 3rd set when the Lady Rams (17-2) turned the entire match around with an eight-point run that put Mobile ahead 14-12 and swung momentum to their side. SHC fought back to tie the set at 14-14, but the damage was done as Mobile would then run off the final three sets for the victory.
The Lady Rams win snapped a 10-match winning streak for the Badgers over Mobile and tied the overall series at 12-12.
Senior
Megan Haber of Lilian, Ala., led SHC with 15 kills while freshman
Marie Rooks of Tallahassee, Fla., handed out 36 assists. Junior
Mallory Raulerson from McGill-Toolen Catholic High School in Mobile had 17 digs with three services aces.
Overall, SHC hit for a .092 average (45-28-184) with five aces, 75 digs and eight total blocks.
Sara Van Wert paced UM with 17 kills and Taylor Harper had 30 assists as the Lady Rams hit for a .163 average (67-35-196) with five aces 96 digs and 12 total blocks.
Spring Hill (15-5, 11-0 SIAC West) will next travel to Tuskegee, Ala., on Thursday to play in a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) West Division Tri-match versus Tuskegee University and Miles College beginning at 1 p.m. versus Tuskegee (7-9, 5-6 SIAC West) followed at 3 p.m. against Miles (8-12, 7-6 SIAC West).
