Box Score PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Spring Hill College men's soccer team saw the University of West Florida (UWF) Argonauts rally to overcome a 2-1 halftime deficit to earn a 3-2 Gulf South Conference (GSC) victory over the Badgers on Friday night at the UWF Soccer Field.
Spring Hill opened the scoring when junior
Andrew McInnis of Mandeville, La., had his shot squirt through the arms of Argonaut (6-8-2, 4-4-1 GSC) starting goalkeeper Stuart McCrory and find the net in the 5th minute of play.
UWF then tied the game in the 24th minute off a quick-strike header by Johnathan Quintero from six yards out via an assist by Tristan Rehrig, but Spring Hill refused to die and went ahead 2-1 in the 37th minute when senior
Mario Escalante from Santa Cruz, Bolivia, ripped a shot into the net from 12 yards out after accepting a beautifully placed running entry pass from freshman

The second half saw Andre Moreira assume command of the Argos' goalkeeping duties and his teammates responded by tying the match at 2-2 in the 55th minute off a penalty kick by Pablo Paz following a Badger foul in the box.
Jorge Chirinos gave West Florida the game-winner in the 70th minute with a successful sharp-shooter effort from 25 yards out that found the corner to make it a 3-2 Argonaut advantage.
Junior
Jacob Files (1-5) of Clinton, Miss., took the loss with two saves against 15 shots and two corner kicks by West Florida while Chirinos earned the win in relief with no saves against one shot and three corner kicks by the Badgers. McCrory made no saves in the first half for UWF while facing seven shots and one corner kick.
Spring Hill (3-11, 2-7 GSC) will close out the 2014 schedule on Sunday afternoon versus the Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) Hurricanes (4-10-2) in a non-conference home match at 1:30 p.m. on Library Field. Before the game, the Badgers will honor their 13 senior teammates with their annual Senior Day ceremony.
