Box Score MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Spring Hill College volleyball team used a big rally in the fourth set to secure a 3-1 (25-23, 24-26, 25-21, 28-26) non-conference decision versus the Georgia College Bobcats in a non-conference match at the Centennial Center on Sunday evening.
Appearing ready to tie the set at 2-2, the Bobcats (7-9) led 19-15 in the 4th set but SHC stormed back to take a 22-21 lead and then survived two late surges by the Bobcats to earn the win with a 28-26 as junior
Mallory Raulerson from Mobile's McGill-Toolen Catholic High School closed out the match with an ace.
Freshman
Julie Vujnovich from Belle Chasse, La., had a breakout game for Spring Hill with 16 kills while senior
Megan Haber of Lillian, Ala., added 13 kills. Freshman setter
Marie Rooks of Tallahassee, Fla., dished out 40 assists and senior
Sami Maurer of St. Louis, Mo., hauled in 26 digs.
As a team, SHC hit .177 (57-26-175) with 86 digs, 14 aces and three team blocks while holding the Bobcats to a .197 attack percentage (57-23-173) with 81 digs four aces and 12 total team blocks.
Spring Hill (20-5) next travels to Columbus, Ga., to face the Columbus State University Cougars (7-10) in a non-conference match beginning in the Frank G. Lumpkin Jr Center at 6 p.m. (Eastern) on Monday.
