Kotval, a junior from Baton Rouge, La., ran a school-record 4,000-meter time of 15:41.20 for the individual championship over a 64-runner field in the time of 15:41.20 at the annual Mississippi College Season Opener at Choctaw Trails in Clinton, Miss.
