Perea-Quijano, a Pensacola, Fla. native, graduated from the University of West Florida with his Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Science in 2019. He went on to earn his Master’s of Science in Athletic Training in May 2024 at UWF.

While pursuing his Master’s, he was given recognition with a Lifesaver’s Recognition at the Athletic Training Association of Florida symposium in July 2023.
