Ferguson makes her coaching debut on the Hill after playing for South Alabama from 2017-2022. In her time with the Jaguars, she was proactive during the early stages of the Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) movement and earned a spot on ESPN's Top 10 Most Marketable Student-Athletes. She also received the Shirley Holt Jaguar Spirit Award in 2023 and the Jaguar Women's Basketball NCAA Award in 2022. A team player on and off the court, she represented her team in the department's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

She received both her bachelor's and master's degrees in sports management from USA.
