Johnny Williams

Johnny Williams joined the Badger staff in August 2018 after a successful playing career Duke University football where he was a standout  wide receiver his freshman year. Ranked second on the team in both receptions and yards, he caught 11 passes for 135 yards against Northwestern to earn ACC Rookie of the Week honors on September 8, 2008. His 11 catches tied for fourth nationally by a freshman that season while establishing a Duke single-game record for rookies. The 135 receiving yards stand as the second-highest single-game total by a Duke freshman behind Walter Jones with 139 yards against The Citadel in 1988.
Williams was recognized nationally with Academic All-ACC selections three years in a row and finished career at Duke University with a degree in Visual Arts and minor in Sociology. He later pursued a personal training certification and became fitness professional, training clients to reach their fitness goals and nurturing athletes to develop in play skills with speed and strength training.
 
A three-year letterman in high school, Williams was named 1st team All-State and All-County as a junior and led Leroy to back-to-back Alabama AA state championships in 2006 and 2007. He was also named All-County and All-State in basketball as a junior. 
He is married to his lovely wife Victoria Williams and they now have a son, Price Williams.
