CALERA, Ala. — The Spring Hill College men's golf team opened the 2026-27 season with a third-place finish at the Full Moon BBQ Invitational, hosted by the University of Montevallo at Timberline Golf Club Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Badgers finished third in the six-team field with a three-round total of 878 strokes (293-285-300) on the par-71, 6,745-yard course.

Montevallo won the team title with 850 strokes (287-276-287) and Miles Jackson of Montevallo finished as the top individual in the field with 210 strokes.

Nick Kelsey led Spring Hill with a third-place individual finish, carding 211 strokes (71-72-68). Kelsey finished one stroke behind the individual leader and closed the tournament with a 68 in Wednesday's final round.

Kevin Tobergte finished 20th with 223 strokes (76-68-79). Tobergte posted a 68 in the second round to help the Badgers move up the team leaderboard.

Christopher Janson and Nicholas Haber tied for 21st with 226 strokes. Janson carded rounds of 73-77-76, while Haber finished with rounds of 73-71-82.

Nicholas Thapar rounded out the Spring Hill lineup, finishing 25th with 229 strokes (78-74-77).

Next Up: Spring Hill will return to action September 21–22 at the Dunning Invitational, hosted at Mossy Oak Golf Club in West Point, Miss.
