Villar Named SIAC Player of the Year, Six Badgers Named SIAC All-Conference
The Spring Hill College Badgers were well represented when the SIAC announced their all-conference teams this week.

Standout third baseman Meadow Villar was named the 2026 SIAC Player of the Year and the Badgers had a combined six All-Conference Team selections across the two teams.

Villar missed the entire 2025 season due to injury, but she came back for her redshirt senior season and put together one of the best seasons in Spring Hill's Division II history. She finished the regular season with a 0.440 batting average, which, if it holds above 0.430 through postseason play, will break the Spring Hill Division II record. She led Spring Hill, and was top five in both home runs and RBI, with 9 and 52, respectively, and added 10 doubles and scored 28 runs. A near-master of the strike zone, Villar only struck out 4 times in 166 at-bats and drew 19 walks.

Villar was named to the SIAC All-Conference First Team at third base and was joined by Bethany Ahrens, who was named to the All-Conference First Team as both a starting pitcher and designated player, and Molly Pitts at catcher.

Ahrens was one of just two SIAC pitchers to post a sub-1.00 ERA in conference play as she went 6-1 in five conference starts and posted a 0.90 ERA. The junior had the lowest opponent batting average in the SIAC at 0.101, allowing just 13 hits in conference games. Ahrens was an always present threat at the plate, hitting 0.364, with eight extra-base hits, two home runs and six doubles, and 23 RBI.

Pitts was part of that strong battery with Ahrens and Spring Hill's other primary pitchers, Leighanna Turk and Emma Curry, that posted the lowest team ERA in the SIAC at 1.81. She had a batting average of 0.346 and an on-base percentage of 0.514 in league play, contributing 7 RBI and 11 runs scored in 13 games played.

Also being recognized by the SIAC on the All-Conference Second Team were McKenzie King and Oscha Carter, King at second base and Carter in the outfield. King hit 0.415 in conference play with four doubles and two triples, while ranking second on the team with 18 RBI. Carter was a consistent performer for the Badgers, hitting 0.359 and posting an on-base percentage of 0.490 while also going a perfect 12-for-12 in stolen bases.

The Badgers finished second in the SIAC West Division behind Tuskegee and will open their pursuit of a three-peat at 2026 SIAC Softball Championship with a game against the three-seed out of the East Division, Savannah State.
