Nine Badgers compete on final day of SIAC meet

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Spring Hill track and field teams closed out the 2026 SIAC Outdoor Championships on Thursday afternoon, with nine individuals competing on the final day. The Badger women finished in fifth place with 50 points as a team, while the men wrapped up the meet in 11th with 23 points.
 
For the second straight day, Claudia Billedeaux got things started for the Badgers, turning in a 13th-place finish in the women's javelin with a season-best mark of 24.38m (80'). Evelyn Herrera finished the women's 1500 in ninth place with a time of 5:23.31 before taking second in the 5K at 19:46.51 later in the day.
 
Cecilia Light took second in the women's 800, doing so with a time of 2:18.66 to move into sole possession of first place on the program record book and pick up All-Conference honors. Two days after setting the program record in the prelims of the women's 400 hurdles, Mariam Cosky produced a finals time of 1:07.72, good enough for sixth place and an All-Conference recognition.
 
JaTerralyn Hamilton finished the women's 100 finals with an eighth-place time of 12.61 and an All-Conference honor before concluding her day in the 4x400 relay, where she teamed with Cosky, Light and Lydia Hamilton. The group combined for a time of 4:08.79 to wrap up the weekend in seventh place and earn All-Conference honors. 
 
On the men's side, Grant Nastasi finished fourth in the 100 with a mark of 10.55 to earn All-Conference honors before proceeding to break his own school record in the 200. His time of 21.30 was good enough for third place in Thursday's finals, and he's now broken the program record in each of his last two meets.
 
Zachary Thomas (17:47.42) and Grant Holder (17:49.99) represented the Badgers in the men's 5K, coming in 11th and 12th respectively. Thomas' time was good enough for a new season-best, while Holder set a new PR.

The Badgers are back in action on May 1, when they take part in the Jaguar Invite hosted by South Alabama.
