Spring Hill Sweeps Day 2 of Badger Beach Bash
GULF SHORES, Ala. - Spring Hill College swept the final day of the Badger Beach Bash Saturday, blanking LaGrange (Ga.) College and Huntingdon College by identical 5-0 scores at the Gulf Shores Public Beach.

Spring Hill (5-2) - which finished the tournament with a 4-0 record - opened the day against LaGrange and won all five matches in straight sets. The Sandy Badgers allowed 16 or more points in just three of 10 sets, and gave up 10 or less points in four of the 10 sets. Leading the way for Spring Hill was the No. 2 team of Claire Hayes and Marissa Peck, who rolled to a 21-8, 21-9 victory in their match. The pairs of Jaylyne Bell and Ashlyn Whiteside (21-11, 21-16 at No. 1), Landry Tea and Airyonna Weaver (21-19, 21-5 at No. 3), Lillie Casey and Reagan Huff (21-11, 21-12 at No. 4) and Mia Johnson and Megan Pulizzano (21-16, 21-10 at No. 5) also notched straight-set wins for the Sandy Badgers against the Panthers (2-8).

Against Huntingdon (3-10), Spring Hill won three of the five matches in straight sets. The Sandy Badgers' No. 1 pair of Bell and Whiteside was one exception, rallying from a set down to earn a 14-21, 21-12, 15-8 victory in their match, while Tea and Weaver were the other, earning a 21-6, 17-21, 15-10 win at No. 3. Also victorious were the teams of Hayes and Peck (21-13, 21-17 at No. 2), Johnson and Alessandra Lane (21-7, 21-13 at No. 4) and Pulizzano and Casey (21-10, 21-10 at No. 5) as Sandy Badgers head coach Sarah Senft juggled her lineup in final match of the day.

Spring Hill has now won both of its all-time matches against LaGrange and the Sandy Badgers are 14-0 all-time versus Huntingdon.

Also worth noting was that for the second straight day, both of the Sandy Badgers' extra pairs earned victories in their respective matches. The team of Felicity Evans and Ella Faliveno won 21-15, 21-12 against LaGrange, while Isabella Granados and Hayden Ashworth teamed up for a 21-15, 21-15 victory in the Huntingdon match.

Spring Hill is now off until March 10, when the Sandy Badgers host the University of Mobile (5-3) at the Jim and Betty Walsh Beach Volleyball Facility. Spring Hill will be celebrating Senior Night and first serve is scheduled for 3 p.m.
