ELMWOOD, La. - Spring Hill College closed out play at the Green Wave Invitational Saturday afternoon, losing 5-0 to No. 12 LSU at the White Sands Volleyball Courts.
LSU (4-0) kept the Sandy Badgers at arm's length for most of the match, as Spring Hill only scored 15 or more points in two of the 10 sets.
Mia Johnson and Alessandra Lane - Spring Hill's No. 4 pair - battled in the second set before falling 21-12, 21-18 in their match, while the No. 5 team of
Lillie Casey and
Reagan Huff extended the LSU pair of Kate Baker and Amaya Messier in the second set before losing, 21-14, 21-15 in their match.
The Sandy Badgers (1-2) are back in action next weekend, hosting the Badger Beach Bash at the Gulf Shores Public Beach in Gulf Shores, Ala. Spring Hill opens tournament play against Berry (Ga.) College on Feb. 27 at 8:30 a.m. before taking on Erskine College at 12:30 p.m. the same day.
