FAIRFIELD, Ala. — The Spring Hill College women's basketball team dropped a road Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matchup Monday evening, falling 76–51 to Miles College Golden Bears at Knox-Windham Gymnasium.
Spring Hill (7-17, 5-16 SIAC) battled throughout but couldn't overcome a fast start by Miles (21-5, 19-3 SIAC), which led from the opening minutes and steadily extended its advantage.
Jenice Adjessom paced Spring Hill with 14 points, while
Allison Irby added 10 points and eight rebounds.
Laurie Severe and
Madison Dowling chipped in six points apiece as the Badgers shot 92.9 percent from the free-throw line.

Miles opened the game on an early run fueled by perimeter shooting and transition opportunities, putting Spring Hill in an early hole. The Badgers settled in midway through the period behind a three-pointer from Irby and late free throws from Adjessom, but still trailed 23-14 after one.
Spring Hill struggled to find consistent offense in the second, shooting just 3-of-11 from the field as Miles applied defensive pressure and forced turnovers. A layup from
Madison Spychalski and a late jumper from
Ta'Myla Allen provided brief sparks, but the Badgers entered halftime trailing 43-21.
The Badgers showed improved energy coming out of the break, posting their highest-scoring quarter with 18 points. Adjessom knocked down a three-pointer, and Dowling added a fast-break layup as Spring Hill found a better rhythm offensively. Despite the push, Miles answered each run to maintain a 63-39 lead heading into the fourth.
Spring Hill continued to compete down the stretch, getting interior baskets from
Ella Vallas and additional free throws from Severe. Adjessom capped her night with a late 3-pointer as the Badgers closed out the contest, but Miles maintained control to secure the final margin.
