Badgers Streak Snapped at Two, Lose at Miles

FAIRFIELD, Ala. — The Spring Hill College men's basketball team saw a two-game winning streak come to an end as the Miles College Golden Bears grabbed a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference win Monday night in Knox-Windham Gymnasium.

Spring Hill (4-21, 4-17 SIAC) kept pace early behind efficient shooting in the opening half, but Miles (18-6, 16-6 SIAC) pulled away in the second half.

Alvin Cole led the Badgers with 20 points, while Rocco Lamuno and Ruben Bos added 10 points each. Amaan Sanni chipped in 13 points to round out Spring Hill's balanced scoring effort.

Rapid Recap:

Spring Hill opened the night with strong offensive execution, shooting 50 percent from the field and knocking down six three-pointers to stay within striking distance. Cole set the tone early with aggressive drives and perimeter shooting, while Bos and Lamuno each connected from beyond the arc to help keep the Badgers close.

Despite the hot start, Miles answered with efficient scoring of its own and used a late push to take a 38-32 lead into halftime. Spring Hill generated transition opportunities and controlled stretches of tempo but couldn't fully erase the deficit heading into the break.

The Badgers continued to compete offensively after halftime, adding 33 points behind timely baskets from Sanni and Harris and continued production from Cole. Spring Hill found success pushing the pace and creating perimeter looks, finishing with 11 made three-pointers.

Miles, however, pulled away midway through the half with a sustained scoring run and capitalized on second-chance opportunities to extend the margin. Despite continued effort on both ends, Spring Hill was unable to close the gap as Miles secured the 84-65 final.
